Safe, but all the reviews I read were right
I like this carseat overall, but for the extra money spent, the chicco would have been just fine. This carseat is very very heavy. I'm petite so carrying and lifting it with baby is a struggle. Baby also can get hot in it so you have to watch not to get the car to warm in the winter and keep the AC on in the summer.
Overall we have had no problems with it. its heavy so I feel it safe. It was easy to install, easy to use. I did end up with a long skinny baby and I think he may grow out of it sooner than the specs say.
